Aston Villa were once a powerhouse in the Premier League, but not every player in their squad was a superstar.

Following on from the club’s league and European glory in the early 80s, in terms of silverware the 1990s were not as successful.

Despite this, they produced some very strong league campaigns and won the English League cup twice to solidify their status as one of the country’s biggest clubs.

They finished 2^nd in the table at the end of the Premier League’s first ever campaign – narrowly missing out to Manchester United.

From players like Dwight Yorke to Paul McGrath, Villa had plenty of talented stars within their ranks. However, not every player reached such heights.
