Inter Milan defeated Jose Mourinho's AS Roma side 2-0 on Tuesday evening in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.

The Nerazzurri opened the scoring in just the second minute of the match, with Edin Dzeko connecting with a fizzing cross from Ivan Perisic to put Simone Inzaghi's side ahead.

Despite receiving a spine-tingling reception from his former club before the game kicked off, Mourinho's frustrations boiled over on the touchline, with the Roma manager earning himself a yellow card for arguing with referee Marco Di Bello just before half-time.

But it seems his frustrations were further compounded when 23 minutes into the second half, former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Alexis Sanchez doubled the lead for Inter.

Collecting the ball just off the halfway-line, Matteo Darmian marched upfield and laid the ball off to the Chilean.

Beating one defender before setting himself, Sanchez pulled off the spectacular and hammered his foot through the ball, sending his shot flying into the top left corner of the goal from 30 yards out.

Simply incredible stuff from Sanchez.

With a two-goal cushion against their opposition, Inter comfortably closed out the match and will advance to the next round of the competition.
