Tottenham manager Antonio Conte loves Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij, says transfer insider Pete O'Rourke.

The 30-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the north London club, and O'Rourke believes he would be more than open to a reunion with his former boss.

What is the latest news involving De Vrij?

According to Tuttosport, Inter are ready to say goodbye to De Vrij this summer, with the Dutchman set to enter the final year of his contract.

Back in December, FC Inter News reported that Tottenham made an enquiry about signing De Vrij, so it looks like they could be a possible destination if Inter do decide to sell in the next transfer window.

The Netherlands international has been an important player for Inter since joining them from Lazio back in 2018, helping the Nerazzurri to the Serie A title last season after making 32 appearances.

However, it now looks like his time at the San Siro could be coming to an end, with Tottenham one team seemingly keeping an eye on his current situation.

What has O'Rourke said about De Vrij to Tottenham?

O'Rourke has told GIVEMESPORT that De Vrij is a player Conte loves and that the former Lazio man would probably be interested in moving to Tottenham in the summer.

Speaking to GMS, the football journalist said: "We know Antonio Conte loves De Vrij. They had a great relationship together during his time at Inter when they won the title, and I'm sure De Vrij would be interested probably in being reunited with Conte if it was a possibility."

Will Tottenham sign De Vrij?

They certainly have a good chance. Inter look open to selling and, given his contract situation, it is a deal that should not be too expensive.

Conte knows De Vrij well, playing the £40.5m-rated central defender 88 times during his time at the San Siro, and often turns to Serie A when signing players.

The Italian has already bagged Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus, his first two signings for Spurs. Would it be a surprise if he turned to Serie A again for further additions? Absolutely not.

A player of his profile, though, you probably would not expect Tottenham to get a free run at him. However, that Conte factor could give them the advantage, so this is definitely one for fans of the north London outfit to keep an eye on.
