Jorge Masvidal has warned Colby Covington he will end up like retired MMA fighter Ben Askren.

Masvidal will be looking to get back in the win column at UFC 272 next month against former team-mate Covington after suffering back-to-back defeats to Kamaru Usman.

The former best mates turned rivals have been going back and forth at one another for the best part of three years now.

And now 'Gamebred' has ramped up the trash talk ahead of the long-awaited grudge match by warning Covington he will suffer the same fate as Askren - who was on the receiving end of the fastest knockout in UFC history back in 2019.

Masvidal, 37, said in a Twitter video: “At the home, the temple, home to some real m************.

"Left and right, I’m not the only one here that’s a bad m***********. Many bad m************ here. But not your b**** a** that got kicked out from here.

"Damn, man. I know it hurts every time you see that s***. I know what a sensitive b**** you are and how you read comments and cry.

"I can’t imagine every time you see this symbol, it just hurts, man. Keep talking s*** though. I can’t wait.

“March 5th is getting closer, so is this knee to your temple.

"Not only am I going to break your face in a very violent way but the UFC is going to see you’re such a liability that they’re gonna kick you out, bro [sic].

"Then it’s going to be back to Indian reservations where you can fight, maybe you can co-main event or some s*** like that because I don’t even think you can main event after I’m done with you, in any show.

"I’m gonna f*** you up, man. Keep talking that s*** though. March 5th can’t come close enough. See you soon, b****. Never forget.”

The former two-time title challenger also recently claimed that he can't wait to expose Covington as a 'fraud' and a 'limited' fighter.
