Ronda Rousey says recent pregnancy is linked to new WWE gear

Ronda Rousey has commented on why she decided to change up her ring gear for her second run with WWE.

Ronda Rousey returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble last month, entering the women’s match at the number 28 spot before going on to last eliminate Charlotte Flair and win the whole thing.

This was Ronda’s first match since April 2019, where she was part of the first female main event of WrestleMania alongside Becky Lynch and the aforementioned Flair.

Fans were quick to point out that Rousey had changed up her ring gear since her first run in WWE, sporting longer trousers than she did during her first stint, as covering up more of her upper body.

Rousey addressed the change in her ring gear on a recent Facebook stream, stating that she’s working on being able to wear the gear she wore previously.

Ronda gave birth to her first child in September 2021, returning to the ring just four months later, and the former UFC star has said that her recent pregnancy is why she’s not wearing the same gear.

Rousey said she didn’t feel confident enough to wear the gear that she wore before, but explained that she is working towards feeling comfortable enough to wear it again:

“It’s hard when you’re coming back and being judged directly to how you looked three years ago.”

During the same stream, Rousey also spoke about the complicated relationship she has with WWE fans, dating back to when they turned on her during her first run with WWE.

Ronda explained that she takes it personally when fans don’t like her, considering she isn’t really playing a character on TV, which you can read more about by clicking here.

Ronda Rousey is slated to challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38 on either April 2 or April 3.
