The north london derby is one of the fiercest rivalries in the Premier League.

Despite Tottenham's lack of trophies in recent years, the competitiveness between the two clubs, and their fans, remains as strong as ever.

The game is still strongly contested between the pair, with two Tottenham wins, two Arsenal wins and two draws in the six most recent meetings.

But while it isn't unusual for the fans to mock each other online, the latest exchange between the two London clubs has come from Arsenal's official website.

The Gunner's official store had a cheeky message aimed towards Antonio Conte's side that was quickly spotted by fans.

If a shopper clicked on their online basket without adding any items, a message popped up saying: "Your basket is as empty as Tottenham's trophy cabinet." Ouch.

Tottenham's trophy cabinet has become a popular point of attack for rival fans in recent years, as the club have now failed to win a trophy since their League Cup victory in 2008.

Their most recent success before that was another League Cup victory in the 1998/99 campaign, meaning the club has just one trophy to their name in over 20 years now.

Spurs have appeared in five major finals in the last 30 years, but ultimately lost every single one, which has only encouraged further ridicule.

In the same period of time, Arsenal have also won the League Cup, however, they have also added nine FA Cups and three Premier League titles to their cabinet.

Arsenal fans, unsurprisingly, appeared to be loving the jibe that was aimed at their rivals, with many fans on Twitter commenting on the situation.

But fans will be disappointed to learn that according to Arsenal, the message was an 'error' that shouldn't have been displayed.

The Gunners released an official statement, per The Sun, stating: "This was posted to the site in error without appropriate checks and approvals and is being removed as quickly as possible."

So it seems that the likeliest reason behind the dig, was an unauthorised change by a cheeky employee, and while the club may not thank him, the fans certainly are.
