Donny van de Beek was fantastic in his first Everton start on Saturday afternoon.

The Dutchman was in the starting lineup for Everton's Premier League clash against Leeds at Goodison Park.

Van de Beek played a pivotal role as Everton ran out comfortable 3-0 victors.

The 24-year-old, playing as a deep-lying midfielder, played a huge role in Everton's first goal as his cross was eventually bundled over the line by Seamus Coleman.

Michael Keane notched Everton's second 13 minutes later, before Anthony Gordon's 78th minute strike put gloss on what was a brilliant day for the Toffees.

Van de Beek was a dominant presence in midfield throughout the game. His statistics from the game make for very impressive reading.

According to Squawka, he had 89.5% pass accuracy, retrieved 10 balls, won seven duels and made four tackes.

He also won three aerial duels, had one interception and created one chance.

His highlights from the game have been compiled by YouTuber user @Alternative MUFC and the footage shows just how classy Van de Beek was.

It's very early days but you can't help but wonder: why on earth did Manchester United not give him a chance?!

United have so many struggles in the centre of midfield and yet Van de Beek was never given the opportunity to prove himself.

Frank Lampard clearly thinks a lot of Van de Beek and he sung his praises after the game.

He said, per Manchester Evening News: “Him (Van de Beek) and Allan were fantastic, also Donny on the ball giving us a sense of calm and intelligence, and a nice rhythm in the team, and he’s going to get better and better.

“He’s been a dream to work with in the short time he’s been here. He waited for his time at Newcastle, I thought it was right to go with the same team and show the players they deserved it with Brentford, but today was spot on.”

It's good to see Van de Beek on the pitch and excelling. Hopefully he can continue his form for the remainder of the season and show Man United what they are missing.
