Liverpool's Thiago could only laugh at microphone lowering after Virgil van Dijk interview

Liverpool‘s Manchester City hunt continued on its merry way during the week as they comfortably overcame Leicester 2-0 at Anfield.

With City streaking away at the top of the Premier League, Liverpool have no option but to win and keep winning if they are to have any hope of hauling Pep Guardiola’s juggernaut in.

With a game in hand and a clash with City themselves on the horizon, Liverpool certainly haven’t been cut adrift just yet.

Liverpool looking strong for the remainder of the season

With a full compliment of players at his disposal in what Jurgen Klopp describes as the strongest squad he’s ever had at Liverpool, you wouldn’t put an unlikely title tilt past the ‘mentality monsters’.

With a wounded Mohamed Salah returning, Sadio Mane on cloud nine and Diogo Jota in fine fettle, the front three is going to do some real damage in the coming months.

Add the Luis Diaz spark to that ember, and you have a full on firing inferno going forward for the Reds.

However, they look rock solid at the back as well with vintage Virgil van Dijk just about back to his best.

With the combination of Thiago and Fabinho in front of him as well, Liverpool look hard to break down.

On top of all that skill, grit and never say day attitude, there is a brilliant sense of camaraderie within the squad as well.

Bred straight from the top, you get the sense that the players just love being around each other, which is why behind the scenes clips are always so popular.

Virgil van Dijk and Thiago interview

That was the case once again after the Leicester game when a clip of Thiago and Van Dijk conducting an interview hit social media.

Following immediately after the towering Van Dijk, Thiago could only help but laugh at just how far the microphone had to be lowered for him.

He pointed it out to Van Dijk as well, who could be heard breaking into hysterics in the background.

Brilliant – there’s no skill quite like being able to laugh at yourself.

The Reds now step into a crucial period of their season.

They absolutely have to keep winning on domestic shores, they return to Champions League action against Inter Milan this week and all the while the Carabao Cup final looms on the horizon.

Get the rest of this month right, and Liverpool could build a foundation for a very exciting end to the season.
