Cristiano Ronaldo was slammed by Richard keys during a savage rant as the former Sky Sports anchor exclaimed he should leave Manchester United now and sign for Bournemouth.

Ronaldo returned to United in the summer transfer window to the delight of fans, but after a bright start, his form has faltered recently.

Fans of the Red Devils had hoped that the signing of the Portuguese star would help them push for the Premier League title after finishing second in the 2020/21 campaign.

But with nearly two-thirds of the current campaign completed, United are now in a battle for a top-four spot and 23 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Ronaldo has managed 14 goals in all competitions but is now enduring his worst goal drought since 2009 after failing to find the back of the net in his last six outings.

There have been plenty of rumours of discontent within the United camp and many of them have revolved around the forward.

Ralf Rangnick hasn't been afraid to leave the sulking star out of his starting XI or substitute him off, but the decisions haven't gone down well with the 37-year-old. He has appeared frustrated on several occasions and has stormed off the pitch more than once this season.

The 37-year-old is already being linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer, despite signing a two-year deal with the club.

Plenty of pundits have had their say on the situation surrounding the Portuguese and his club, and the latest to do so was beIN Sports presenter Keys.

Keys went on a savage rant in which he told his co-host the United star should leave now rather than the summer.

Keys said, per the Mirror: “Jorge Mendes was talking to senior Manchester United executives about leaving at the end of the season, my own view of that is that he should he leave now.
“I’ve been of the opinion all season long that I think he’s as much a part of the problem - not the whole problem - as anything and anybody else."

Keys then lectured Ronaldo on his attitude after United's game against Burnley: “The other night, when he went running down the tunnel at Turf Moor, having recently lectured everyone about being the leader he believes himself to be and that youngsters don’t do the sorts of things he does…how does that encourage team spirit in the dressing room?”

His co-host Andy Gray agrees with his thoughts on the Burnley match but also attempts to give a reason behind Ronaldo's reactions, explaining: “That was not good to see, totally wrong for him to do that. He’s obviously disappointed at not playing.
“He’s playing against Burnley, bottom of the league, he’s thinking ‘there’s a few goals in this for me’.
“He is 37 years of age and knows he’s running out of time to play top football. You want to try and play as many games as you can.”

But Keys then interjects: “That’s fine then, go and sign for Bournemouth and you’ll play every week.”

It was a brutal tirade from the ex-Sky Sports man, but a sentiment that many fans are beginning to adopt.

Frustration appears to be growing around the forward's recent drop in form and some fans believe that the club has regressed since the return of the 37-year-old.

It will certainly be interesting to see who United choose to replace Rangnick in the coming summer and whether that has any impact on Ronaldo's apparent desire to leave.
