Fabinho: Liverpool man was baffled by question after Burnley win

Fabinho played a pivotal role as Liverpool narrowly beat Burnley on Sunday afternoon in their Premier League clash at Turf Moor.

The Reds went into the game as heavy favourites against the Premier League strugglers.

But they were unable to assert their dominance over Sean Dyche’s plucky side.

Despite not being at their best, Jurgen Klopp’s men managed to prevail 1-0.

Fabinho scored the only goal of the game in the 40th minute after he poked home from a corner.

Burnley had chances in the game. In fact, they had five shots on target compared to Liverpool’s four.

But Fabinho clearly didn’t think Burnley posed too much threat during the game.

After the match, in his post-match interview with DAZN, Fabinho was told: “Burnley had a lot of chances today, didn’t they?”

The Brazilian looked baffled as he replied: “Really? Not really…”

The reporter maintains Burnley did have a few chances, to which Fabinho conceded: “A couple…”

Fabinho spoke about the ‘really important three points’ in a separate interview with LFCTV.

“We know that it’s a tough place to come here. We know everything about them: second balls, long balls and strong physically,” he said, per the Metro.

“But we were ready for this and the team played a good game.

“Sometimes we didn’t put the ball on the ground so it was a little bit hard, but when we controlled the ball we had the ball to create some good chances.

“After the goal in the second half we had a bit more space, we created more chances to kill the match. We didn’t kill the game but defensively we were really strong and it was three really important points.”
