Conor McGregor has deleted a series of tweets aimed at Tyson Fury which are… even by his standards, appalling.

Yes, the feud continues. And it’s really escalated now…

It began with the world heavyweight champion in boxing tweeting his support and respect for Khabib Nurmagomedov. It progressed to McGregor’s drunken and bizarre response, which slated Fury for failing to back up Billy Joe Saunders' dad and who knows what else.

Then it was Fury mocking The Notorious for being tapped out on multiple occasions across his career.

But now, McGregor’s most recent series of responses to Fury are even more mind-boggling to read.

The tweets have since been deleted, however, not before thousands of Twitter followers screenshotted the unsavoury replies.

“Oh no people don’t like me what will I ever do hahahahah idiot,” McGregor tweeted.

“You are just a little rim licker bro. that’s all.

“You stood there while your friend’s father was being attacked and done nothing.

“That’s the be all and end all bro.

“Good luck, God bless.”

McGregor then continued the barrage of offensive slurs in a further series of tweets that are even worse than the first.

Can you really compare Conor McGregor to Muhammad Ali?!

It’s clear the UFC star or someone associated with him must have realised what a huge mistake these tweets were and quickly took them down, although once it’s out there, it’s out there.

Following this, McGregor then uploaded a video of Fury, in which he was praising McGregor’s influence on the UFC, captioned: “It’s all good, we forget it. Fair play Tyson. God Bless ya mate. #mentalhealthawarenessweek”

Let’s hope that’s the end of what was becoming a pretty ridiculous spat between arguably the two most popular stars in combat sports right now.
