The eloquently named Ricky ‘Rapid’ Evans hit a 146 checkout that was so quick, Sky Sports just had to put the video on their YouTube channel.

We saw some brilliant darts at the Ally Pally for the World Championship over the festive season; the tournament simply never fails to disappoint.

There’s nothing darts fans love more than to see merciless 180 hitting and clinical tonne plus checkouts.

Fortunately, we got both in spades at the World Championship last year.

And of the many tonne plus checkouts, few came close to this super-fast 146 from Ricky ‘Rapid’ Evans…

After Daryl ‘SuperChin’ Gurney missed a dart for the leg on double eight, Ricky Evans swiftly stepped up and took out 146 with two treble 19s and double 16.

Have some of that. A break of throw as well.

Unfortunately for Evans, Gurney went on to win the match 3-1 and progressed to the third round, where he was then eventually dispatched by Rob Cross 4-3.

Neither Evans nor Gurney made the cut for the 2022 Premier League either, with the latter having been selected on three occasions before, whereas Evans has not yet managed to progress to a high enough ranking to be considered.

The Premier League of Darts is heading into its third week this Thursday at the SSE Arena, in Belfast.

So far, Peter Wright and Jonny Clayton have one win apiece under the new format that sees players compete in a tournament style for both points and prize money.

Reigning champion Clayton currently sits three points clear at the top, however, thanks to his extra final appearance.

Initial fixtures this week are:

Michael Smith vs Gerwyn Price

Joe Cullen vs Michael van Gerwen

Gary Anderson vs Peter Wright

James Wade vs Jonny Clayton
