Pulling off the coup signing of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane would be an 'unbelievable get' for mega-rich Newcastle United, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Magpies were Europe's biggest spenders during the January transfer window, but it seems as though head coach Eddie Howe is already making plans ahead of the summer.

What's the latest news involving Kane?

Jones has previously told GIVEMESPORT that he is expecting Newcastle to splash the cash once again when the transfer window reopens at the start of July and alleged that Kane could be among their targets.

Ex-Magpies ace Darren Ambrose also previously claimed on talkSPORT, via The Sun, that his former employers could spend up to £200million on the Tottenham man.

That came after the Saudi Arabia-based Public Investment Fund led a £305million takeover of the Tynesiders, making them the richest club in world football.

Kane was desperate to leave north London last summer, with him hoping to force through a big-money switch to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

However, a move failed to come to fruition and it now seems the 28-year-old is enjoying life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thanks to the influence of head coach Antonio Conte.

Kane's current contract - worth £200,000-per-week - still has just shy of two-and-a-half years to run, meaning Spurs are in no immediate need to sell their prised asset.

What has Dean Jones said about Kane?

Jones feels Newcastle head coach Howe being able to attract Kane to St James' Park is not out of the question.

The transfer insider understands a move may seem unlikely at the outset due to the Magpies still fighting to avoid relegation.

However, he believes Newcastle could display a serious statement of intent by aiming to prise Kane away from Tottenham.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "Harry Kane, obviously, would be an unbelievable get. It seems undoable right now, but things can quickly turn and you never know."

What would Kane bring to Newcastle?

Goals, goals and more goals. Kane has found the back of the net a whopping 236 times for Tottenham, making him the second most prolific star in the club's history.

He has not only been a serious threat in front of goal at club level as he has also shone over the course of 67 England outings.

Kane's 48 goals for the national team means he is quickly closing in on Wayne Rooney's record of 53.
