The wrestling world is abuzz with the news of Stone Cold Steve Austinâs possible return to the ring at WrestleMania in April. The Rattlesnake has competed in a match for nearly twenty years, but plans are apparently in place for Austin to do battle with Kevin Owens in a shock comeback in Dallas. WWE are pulling out all the stops to make it a memorable WrestleMania weekend, and according to a new report, Austin may not be the only surprise.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that a match between Owens and Stone Cold is âon the cardsâ, but also revealed there could be a further âAustin levelâ surprise instore for WrestleMania.
"There's apparently one more surprise, besides Austin, still to come. Itâs supposed to be Austin level. You know thatâs a pretty small list of people that could be Austin level. The Rock, I think Dwayne, has things going on, so I donât think itâs going to be him. So who else do we have? Hogan, Flair and Undertaker right?
The Rock sent tongues wagging this weekend following his Superbowl appearance, after dropping a nod to his famous WWE catchphrases during his introduction to the two teams. He then took to social media to reply to journalists who pointed out the easter eggs and hinted that âthe MILLONS with a *pause is coming soonâ.
On Austin, itâs also been suggested by Andrew Zarian on the Weâre Live Pal Show, that the Hall of Famerâs appearance at WrestleMania may not be a one and done and could lead to more. With Meltzer adding it could depend on how his body holds up after competing for the first time in two decades.
