Journalist Pete O'Rourke thinks Jesse Marsch, Ernesto Valverde and Carlos Corberan could all "tick the boxes" for Leeds United should they need to replace current manager Marcelo Bielsa.

The trio have all been linked with the Whites, with Bielsa's future at Elland Road once again in doubt.

What is the latest news involving Bielsa?

It is not yet known if Bielsa will still be in the Leeds dugout next season. The Argentine has a policy of signing one-year deals and his current one is set to expire in the summer.

Sporting director Victor Orta, though, seems to have drawn up a contingency plan that includes Marsch, Valverde and Corberan.

According to The Telegraph, all three managers are candidates to replace Bielsa if he does decide to leave Elland Road at the end of the campaign, with Marsch thought to be the leading contender.

Corberan is managing Huddersfield Town right now, but Marsch and Valverde are out of work, with the former recently leaving RB Leipzig, so could be easy options to get.

What has O'Rourke said about Leeds' list of Bielsa replacements?

O'Rourke thinks all three of Marsch, Valverde and Corberan could suit Leeds.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the transfer insider said: "They're three names that would possibly tick the boxes for Leeds if they were to look for a replacement for Bielsa."

Who should Leeds pick?

Marsch, Valverde and Corberan all make sense. As The Telegraph has mentioned, the three managers have similar football philosophies to Bielsa.

Corberan was, of course, also a part of the Argentine's backroom staff before taking over at Huddersfield, where he is currently doing an excellent job having brought the Terriers into promotion contention.

However, you cannot help but feel that Valverde would be a bit of a coup if Leeds secured his services.

Things did not end well for him at Barcelona after his sacking two years ago, but managing a club of that stature and taking them to two Spanish league titles makes him an appealing candidate.

Valverde, who has also managed at Athletic Bilbao like Bielsa, has much more experience than Corberan and Marsch, too. It could help give him the upper hand if a real battle to replace Bielsa ensues.

There is still, of course, plenty of time for the 66-year-old to sign a new deal at Elland Road, so you would not rule out him staying for another season. But if not, Valverde, Marsch and Corberan could be good options to replace him, with the older Spaniard arguably the standout candidate.
