Premier League Darts: Gerwyn Price hits two nine-darters in Belfast

World number one Gerwyn Price had a night to remember on Thursday.

The Welshman hit two (yes, TWO) nine-darters in the Belfast leg of the 2022 Premier League to send the fans in attendance wild.

Price recorded a perfect leg of darts in his semi-final encounter versus Michael van Gerwen and he even achieved the feat after dropping a dart during his second turn on the board.

The Ice Man somehow composed himself in front of thousands watching on, proceeded to hit a third treble 20 to record a 180 and then finished a 144 checkout as if it was the easiest thing in the world.

Magical stuff from the former world champion.

Price went on to beat Van Gerwen 6-5 in a thrilling semi-final encounter to setup a meeting with James Wade in the final of Night 3 in the 2022 edition of the Premier League.

And in just the third leg against The Machine, Price achieved darting perfection once again and it was arguably even better a second time around.

Absolute scenes in Belfast!

Price eventually secured an impressive 6-4 victory over Wade in the final to pick up some priceless points and move up to second in the table behind countryman Jonny Clayton.

It really was a night in the capital of Northern Ireland that the Ice Man and fans of darts will never, ever forget.

Amazingly, Price isn’t the first dartist to hit two nine-darters in just one evening at a major event.

In the 2010 Premier League final, the legendary Phil Taylor achieved the truly incredible sporting feat against Wade on his way to yet another trophy.

People just love hitting nine-darters when they play The Machine, don’t they?
