England continue their unbeaten run in the Arnold Clark Cup after playing out a 0-0 draw against Spain at Carrow Road.The two sides met despite the harsh weather conditions in Norwich and Sarina Wiegman took the opportunity to try out some new personnel.The manager handed a senior debut to goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, who put in a superb performance to open up her Lionesses portfolio.The Aston Villa shot-stopper put in a convincing display against clinical goal-scorers like Jenni Hermoso and Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas. Overall, it was a solid team effort from England, who denied all goalscoring opportunities created by the Spaniards, but Hampton stole the spotlight with a dream debut for her nation.Her post-match interview also sparked interest as she revealed she had in fact been listening to the Spanish players discussing their tactics."I was listening to everything the Spanish were saying and telling everyone 'they're going to do this, they're going to do that.' That definitely helped," Hampton laughed. "I knew a few of the players from the youth groups, coming through England and playing against them, so they might have remembered but I don't think [they knew I speak Spanish]."

The 21-year-old is fluent in Spanish, having moved out there with her family when she was five years old. She learned the language and was scouted by Villarreal, where she started off playing as a forward.

Hampton has been patiently waiting in the wings for her first England cap for some time now and she finally got her opportunity at the Arnold Clark Cup. In the lead up to the Euros this summer, she has certainly left a lasting impression.

"It's a dream come true for me. I honestly don't think I took a smile off my face from the moment I got told until now and I don't think it will be coming off my face for a long time.

"I couldn't really have planned it any better. You go over this day so many times in your head and what you wish for — the game was more than what I could have ever thought it would be. The wait was definitely worth it and hopefully there's many more to come."

The former Birmingham City star celebrated with her teammates after the match, who lauded the quality of her first senior appearance.

"That was absolutely class," Rachel Daly said at full-time. "Honestly, cherish every single moment of this because there's no better feeling and you were absolutely brilliant."

Lucy Bronze and Beth Mead also praised an elated-looking Hampton, who relished every single moment of applauding the crowd after the final whistle.
