Tommy Fury has revealed he hopes his fight with Jake Paul will be rebooked for 'the back end of the year'.

The Love Island star, 22, was due to take on YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul in December with both of their unbeaten professional records on the line.

But he was forced to pull out of the highly-anticipated fight late last year after coming down with a chest infection and suffering a broken rib while training.

However, Fury has refused to rule out finally meeting Paul in the ring, as he insists 'he's got nobody else to fight'.

He also revealed he wants to make his return to the ring on the undercard of his brother Tyson Fury's clash with Dillian Whyte.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I'd like to see the fight happen for the back end of the year.

"You know, I'm not really waiting around for him. He knows I'm ready to fight at all times. I've put that out there countless times.

"I'm not the issue here - if the man wanted to fight we would have a rescheduled date by now.

"But the ball's in his court, I'm ready to fight whenever. I would like to see it happen at the end of the year.

"I know Frank's still trying to reach out to him and stuff like that and I do think the fight is still there because he's not daft.

"Who else is he going to fight? He's got nobody else to fight. This fight is the biggest fight for him to take at the minute and he knows that full well.

"But I think I'm looking to get a run out on Tyson's undercard next, that's the plan moving forward, and then we'll try set that fight up for the back end of the year."

Paul, 25, instead faced former UFC fighter Tyron Woodley as a short-notice replacement for Fury in a rematch in Tampa and won comfortably with a seventh-round knockout.

The American has also insisted Fury's decision to pull out of the fight will haunt him 'for the rest of his entire life'.

Paul told The Sun: “Tommy Fury pulling out of the fight with his illness is more embarrassing than him fighting and getting knocked out.

“It’s bad either way for him but this way this way for him will be a massive regret for the rest of his entire life.

“He definitely seems very down though, he is complaining on Instagram about fans attacking him, claiming he didn’t fake an injury.

“He is clearly going through it.”
