The Undertaker was planned to make a shock appearance at the WWE Elimination Chamber, a new report has claimed.

The Undertaker didn't make an appearance at WWE Elimination Chamber over the weekend, but he was originally planned to.

PWInsider is reporting that 'The Deadman' was set to be in Saudi Arabia for the show, but WWE ended up changing its plans and not going ahead with his appearance.

The appearance was set to be nothing more than a cameo from 'Taker, with his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame being announced the day before:

While he did not make the trip, at one point, there were plans for newly minted WWE Hall of Famer Undertaker to make a non-wrestling appearance to celebrate his impending induction on the WWE Elimination Chamber PPV but the plans were dropped.  We are told the idea was pretty much a cameo appearance as opposed to any sort of angle.

As of right now, there's no word on why WWE ended up scrapping the plans for The Undertaker's appearance at the Premium Live Event.

It's also unclear whether or not WWE is going to have him appear on either Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown this week to honour his Hall of Fame induction.

The report also notes that Kurt Angle was slated to make an appearance on the show, but again, WWE altered its plans and Angle's appearance was scrapped.

While PWInsider didn't reveal what the plans for Angle were, the former WWE Champion has exactly explained what he was going to do, which you can read more about by clicking here.

The Undertaker is the only entrant into the 2022 WWE Hall of Fame confirmed as of yet, with more almost certainly going to be announced between now and WrestleMania 38 in April.
