Dying Light 2 has released on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and PC but how exactly do you scavenge from convoys in the game?
The action-horror RPG has some meaty survival elements that players must navigate and there is a real difficulty to the game if you cannot find the right equipment to take on the zombie horde.
One way of acquiring such kit is to buy items from merchants but that can prove surprisingly expensive, not to mention time consuming when it comes to earning that sweet cash.
As a result, one excellent mechanic for players to use is scavenging for items and picking up loot from military convoys.
Evacuation Convoys are scattered across the map, and you’ll have to clear them to pick up the loot.
You can loot them for valuable weapons and more, but it can take some time to complete them if you don’t have the right strategy.
How to scavenge from Evacuation Convoys
The convoys have been left by civilians who tried to escape the city when the zombie plague first hit but every single area with a convoy is absolutely riddled with the shuffling undead.
One thing that we highly recommend is stocking up on throwable items and weapons, particularly Molotov cocktails, decoys, and throwing knives. Bring a weapon that hasn’t taken any damage at all, and use a lockpick, as recommended by Gamerant.
From there, take the high ground and distract the zombies with decoys. Once you’ve got enough in one area, chuck a Molotov into the area and see them burn up.
From now on, you’ll have zombies coming at you because they’ll sense where the throw came from; use your throwing knives to take the majority of them down. Any left can be picked off with whatever weapon you’ve chosen to bring.
Now you’ve cleared the area, you’ll be looking for a locked area that can be accessed by using the lockpick. It may be a hidden room, or it could be hidden in the back of a vehicle.
Lockpicks are breakable, so make sure that you’ve got some practice when it comes to using them before you head for a convoy.
Once you unlock the door, you’ll be able to scoop up the loot and it’s worth noting that the convoys will always reset, so you can come back again and again for those sweet unlocks.
