Get excited football fans! Masters Football is back and it's making a return to our screens very soon.

The indoor tournament was broadcast live on Sky Sports for 11 years at the beginning of the 2000s and was adored by fans who got to see some of their footballing heroes compete once again.

In the past - the events have featured illustrious names such as Roy Keane, Ally McCoist and Peter Beardsley.

The tournament is only available for retired players over the age of 35, but don't let this fool you - the matches can get supremely competitive.

In the last edition of Master's Football, teams competed at regionals, with the winners progressing to a national competition which was played all in one night.

Matches consisted of eight-minute halves and were played out in venues spread across the UK.

When is Masters Football returning?

An image of the arena that Masters Football takes place in.

The new Master's Football tournament is just around the corner, with a confirmed date of 8th July 2022 being the day it makes its eagerly anticipated comeback.

This tournament will be played out a little differently than the original setup, with just four teams competing in Scotland - but plans are already in place for a full, major tournament with regional heats in 2023.

Former Arsenal striker and former masters star - Tony Woodcock, is actually the director and co-founder of the service. His partner? None other than Brighton midfielder Adam Lallana!

How to Watch

The event will take place at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow, but will also be airing for viewers on a newly launched sports documentary streaming service - 360 Sports TV.

You'll be needing a subscription to watch this, so you can find more information about their service here.
