WWE are waiting for Kevin Owens to finish his tag team program before beginning the angle with Stone Cold Steve Austin.

On last night’s Monday Night Raw, Owens once again teamed with Seth Rollins and the pair earned their way into a Raw Tag Team Title match in two weeks by defeating RK-Bro in the show’s main event. They will face Randy Orton and Riddle as well as champions Alpha Academy for the Raw Tag Team Championships in a triple-threat match.

During the show Owens once again made known his dislike for Texas during a backstage segment, as WWE continue to build towards KO’s expected rivalry with Steve Austin ahead of a WrestleMania clash.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the upcoming program between the two and noted that things haven’t properly kicked off with Austin yet, because WWE wants to resolve the tag title situation first. One that could serve as a reason to get to Austin and Owens.

"They didn't go too hard tonight. I mean, it was there, but I guess because they’ve got the tag team thing that they’ve got to get to first before they get to the Owens – Austin thing.”

A match against Kevin Owens would mark Steve Austin’s first match since the main event of WrestleMania XIX in 2003. The Rattlesnake is just one of a number of huge names WWE is bringing in for WrestleMania, kicking off with The Undertaker’s Hall of Fame induction.

Logan Paul has already been confirmed as Miz’s tag team partner against the Mysterios, while Johnny Knoxville is heavily rumoured to be taking on Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship. Cody Rhoads is also expected to be part of the weekend, after WWE continually teased his return on Raw.
