Jamie Chadwick has announced she will return to the W Series in an attempt to earn her third consecutive title. The British star is set to join Jenner Racing, led by Olympic gold medallist and former racing driver Caitlyn Jenner.Chadwick revealed that Jenner’s vision convinced her to return for another edition of the W Series."I am really excited to be returning to W Series to defend my title," she said. "To be asked to return by Jenner Racing was an opportunity I didn't think twice about."Together, we are focused on doing all we can to win title number three. I have spoken to Caitlyn Jenner and her vision for the team is amazing.“I have zero doubt that she will be able to help take my career to the next level and open doors for me internationally.”Chadwick won the inaugural W Series in 2019, before securing a second title last year. Across both seasons, the 23-year-old has won six races and finished on the podium in all except two of her 14 starts.

Due to her dominance, many had tipped Chadwick to progress up into F2 or F3, and eventually become the first woman in Formula 1 for 40 years.

Chadwick referenced this when explaining her decision to remain among the W Series drivers.

"This is a big development year for me,” she said. “I have plans to run a supporting racing programme and I have made no secret of my desire to compete in F3 and F2.

"But timing is everything and the opportunity that W Series gives me to get more competitive experience at world-class circuits is a key step on my journey towards competing in F1."

Jenner announced her W Series involvement earlier this month – as team principal of Jenner Racing, she will be making decisions on the driver lineup, car livery and the acquisition of sponsors.

After winning decathlon gold at the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games, the American swapped her spikes for a racing helmet.

She won the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race at the Long Beach Grand Prix on two occasions in 1979 and 1982, before triumphing in her first IMSA Camel GT Championship race in the 12 Hours of Sebring endurance event.

This year’s W Series gets underway in Miami in May, kickstarting an eight-race tournament. Each event will once again be held during F1 Grand Prix weekends.
