A new card design has emerged that could make its way to FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, according to recent leaks.

There are an array of different cards in the hugely popular game mode that differentiate away from the standard gold, silver and bronze cards.

From Team of the Week (TOTW), Winter Wildcards to Team of the Year (TOTY), EA Sports run an array of promotions across the life of a particular, with some eye-catching card designs being introduced with them.

With the wide array of variations that EA have provided, the Canadian gaming giants have been providing updates over the course of FIFA 22's life in regards to new content, player face changes and bug fixes in an attempt to ensure the smooth running of the game.

However, it appears that there could be a slight change to some of the card designs in Ultimate Team, which could mean a whole new appearance to a group of players entirely.

New Card Design in Ultimate Team?

It is not a new card that is being added to Ultimate Team - more of an adaptation of an existing one.

According to Macartneyyt on Twitter, there will "most likely" be a change to the existing Hero card design with subtle adaptations being made.

As you can see, there is a subtle yellow chequered pattern that runs from the middle to the top right-hand corner of the card. It actually looks remarkably similar to the Ones to Watch cards so it appears that EA are moving away from their traditional red and blue design for Heroes.

Whether OTW cards and Hero cards will look the same in-game, remains to be seen, but there is a chance that both can be confused when it comes to opening Party Bag packs.

It is not yet known why EA are changing the look of the Hero cards, but it appears that they are going ahead of this regardless.

It will be interesting to see whether any other card designs are changed with new ones being implemented until the game's life draws to a close.
