Manchester United managed to salvage a draw in their Champions League last-16 first leg tie against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening.

United were far from their best at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Atletico took an early lead when Joao Felix produced a stunning diving header in the seventh minute.

The La Liga giants had numerous chances to add to their lead, with Marcos Llorente going the closest as he struck the crossbar.

United were posing very little threat going forward and Ralf Rangnick sent on Anthony Elanga in the 75th minute with the hope the youngster could find the net.

And the Swedish youngster did just that. Elanga was on the pitch for just five minutes when he struck a crucial equaliser.

Bruno Fernandes played a through ball and the teenager suddenly found himself one-on-one with Jan Oblak.

Elanga was was coolness personified as he rolled the ball into the corner of the net.

It was a truly wonderful moment for the 19-year-old and you can view it below...

That was just United's first shot on target and Elanga's first in the match.

Both sides had chances to win it late on. Antoine Griezmann found space inside the box but his effort struck the crossbar.

Jesse Lingard, also sent on late by Rangnick, saw a strike in stoppage time saved by Oblak.
