Former mixed martial arts fighter Brendan Schaub recently interrupted Mike Tyson in an interview to tell Tyson that in his prime, Tyson Fury would have beaten him.

The pair were talking on a four-hour long podcast called 'The Lion’s Den with Mike Tyson and Friends' where they discussed many things including Tyson in his prime.

The question was asked, “Mike Tyson in his prime vs Tyson Fury in his prime. Who wins?” The now stand-up comedian Schaub jumped straight in to give his opinion.

Schaub said: “Mike, before you answer, this is no disrespect but for me, technically-wise, Fury can go defense. His footwork is great. To me, as far as technique-wise, he is the best we've ever had."

The 55-year-old great responded with: “Listen, just him being Tyson Fury shows my greatness.

"I don’t know. I don’t care if he could beat me or not. His name is Tyson. He can beat me but I don’t care he is named after the greatest fighter that ever lived."

We have always known that Tyson was a fan of Fury and once said that Fury was the best world champion since himself, so the love is there.

Tyson told Eurosport: “You can say what you want about Tyson Fury, make fun of him, but there's one guy in the US named Michael Gerard Tyson who's so proud he has my name.

"We're all laughing at him, laughing about him, but I'm on an ego trip. I'm sky high. The heavyweight champion of the world got my name. He is the best heavyweight champion of the world since myself.

"He is the man, I don't care what anybody says."

Iron Mike then mentioned on the podcast Fury’s personality outside of the ring and said how Fury can believe whatever he wants when he puts his mind to it.

"I know this is going to sound ignorant, he can say what he wants to say," he added.

"You know who are going to look up to him? The people who never thought they had a chance in their life.

"Are you nuts? Are you out of your mind? People who want to be junkies, they're going to look up to him. I'm so proud of him, man."
