Stuart Dallas: Leeds ace produces miss of the season contender vs Tottenham

Leeds United’s struggles continued as they were destroyed by Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side went into the game having not won in five matches. Just days prior, they had been smashed for six by Liverpool at Anfield.

And they endured a nightmare first half as they conceded three goals in the opening 27 minutes, with Matt Doherty, Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane on the scoresheet.

Leeds improved after the break and had a golden opportunity to pull one back with 15 minutes remaining.

A Tottenham corner was cleared and Leeds countered.

Hugo Lloris came storming out of his goal but his clearance from just inside his own half was blocked by Dallas.

Dallas then found himself with virtually an open goal but he took too long and, when he did finally decide to shoot, his attempt was blocked.

Watch the moment below…

It was awful from Dallas and summed up Leeds’ day. Had he scored, it could have sparked an unlikely late comeback.

But he failed to do so and Spurs made Dallas pay shortly after Son Heung-min made it 4-0.

There were no further goals as Leeds were handed another heavy defeat. They have now conceded 20 goals in their last five matches.

Leeds are in serious danger of falling into the relegation zone. They are 15th and will fall into the bottom three should the teams below them win their games in hand.

Bielsa is a hero at Leeds for finally taking them back to the Premier League but the club may well feel compelled to make a change at the manager position soon.
