Marcus Rashford is enduring a difficult run of form for Manchester United right now.The 24-year-old is struggling to make an impact, failing to score in his previous six games, and looks short of confidence.Rashford was named on the bench in Unitedâs 0-0 draw against Watford on Sunday but was unable to make the difference when he came on for the last 16 minutes.Ralf Rangnick acknowledged Rashfordâs form ahead of the Watford game and admitted itâs something the forward is aware of, too.âI know he is not happy with his performance right now but it doesnât help if we discuss that every week,â the German said, per Unitedâs website.âWe can all make our thoughts as to what it could be but I donât see any reason why he should be happy.â
Rashford's effort vs Watford criticised
Rashford has netted twice since the end of October but itâs not just his lack of production thatâs causing issues.
Last month, the England international was accused of not running for a loose ball during Unitedâs FA Cup win against Aston Villa, and similar complaints were sent his way after an odd moment in the Watford draw.
Against Villa, many felt that Rashford could have pounced after Emiliano Martinez spilled the ball inside his box.
And against Watford, he barely busted a gut to get on the end of a pass by Jadon Sancho.
Sancho received the ball on the left and picked out Rashford, but despite being presented with a glorious opening he was unable to get a shot away.
Fans react to Rashford video
Could Rashford have done more to make contact with the ball or was the pass just too quick for him? Many feel the former.
âThis was a clear cut chance that wasnât even taken,â one fan wrote on Twitter. âIf Rashford isnât jogging he gets a clean hit that should probably score.â
âFresh legs and missed a sitter,â another added.
âMissed? He didnât even try,â came a response.â

Short on confidence
Rashford is clearly lacking confidence right now.
What's the solution? It's hard to say.
But he's not the sort of player to shy away from a challenge, so you can be sure he's working hard in training to get things right.
Hopefully, in time, we see him back to his best.
