Thiago Alcantara has had numerous injury problems since signing for Liverpool from Bayern Munich in 2020.

According to Transfermarkt, Thiago has missed a total of 41 Liverpool games over the past year-and-a-half due to injury or illness.

Thiago has been brilliant in recent weeks after returning from a hip problem at the start of February, an injury that kept him out for just over a month.

Thaigo's form saw him named in the starting lineup for the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

But his injury curse struck him in the warm up to the match.

Roughly 10 minutes before kick-off, it was revealed that Thiago has been ruled out of the game through an undisclosed injury.

And he was absolutely distraught at having to miss out.

Cameras showed Thiago in tears just before the game kicked off, with Alisson Becker consoling him.

Just heartbreaking. Thiago is such a classy player but he's been riddled by injuries during his time at Liverpool. He is clearly fed up with all the problems he's picked up.

The Spaniard's absence will no doubt be a big blow for Jurgen Klopp's side. He was replaced in the lineup by Naby Keita, while Harvey Elliott moved on to the substitutes bench.

A victory for Liverpool would give them their 66th trophy and put them alongside Manchester United as England's most successful club.
