Edouard Mendy produced a remarkable double save for Chelsea vs Liverpool in the first half of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final at Wembley.Kepa Arrizabalaga played in all the previous rounds of the competition but Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel opted for his first-choice goalkeeper Mendy for the big one.“He absolutely deserves the chance and I cannot get sentimental about the position,” Tuchel said of Kepa in the build-up to the final, per the Daily Mail.“In the end, I have to do what is, in my opinion, the very best solution for the team.“I know this is a very sensitive position. If Kepa was on the field among the other 10 players, we would not have these discussions, we would just be full of praise and he would feel it in minutes. He is in this one position where there are not a lot of changes.”

Edouard Mendy's stunning double save in Carabao Cup final

However, Mendy justified Tuchel’s selection with a remarkable double-save midway through the first half.

The Senegal international first stopped Naby Keita’s long-range effort before recovering to somehow deny his compatriot, Sadio Mane, from close range.

It’s one of the most incredible double-saves that we’ll see in any cup final.
