Whilst in attendance at last Fridayâs Bellator 275 in Dublin, UFC star Conor McGregor was on hand to speak to The Mirror in an exclusive, where he revealed in short what could lay ahead. When asked when he would be coming back, the Irishman replied: âSoon. Itâs getting there,â whilst also revealing he doesnât have an opponent in mind, saying: âSee what happens. See what shakes out.âThe former double champion last took to the Octagon in July 2021, where he went toe-to-toe with American Dustin Poirier at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. Poirier came out on top for the second time between the two fighters, thanks to a doctorâs stoppage in round one after McGregor broke his leg. Notorious is currently rehabbing the leg injury, and is planning to return to sparring in April, which could open the possibility to a bout this summer. In The Mirror exclusive, Mystic Mac was also asked whether he could fight Jake Paul, in which he replied: âWho knows? Never say never.â
Paul has had the UFC star in mind for over two years now, with reports claiming the Problem Child offered McGregor a whopping $50m fight offer in 2020.Â
Speaking at the press conference between Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano, Paul declared: âI donât give a s*** about Conor.â
The YouTube star was present at the press conference whilst co-promoting alongside Eddie Hearn.Â
âI just want to fight him and smack him in the head - in that sense I hope he can win some fights so that we can actually fight.
Jake Paul is taking his fight for better pay in the UFC to the next level
âBut this guy is a grown-a** man, he needs to figure out his life. It seems to be falling apart from what I can tell.
âObviously, everything's through a lens, we don't know what he's going through actually," Paul added.
"He needs to get in the gym and drink calcium because his bones are f****** breaking."
Itâs quite clear there is no love lost for McGregor from Jake Paulâs point of view, but will we ever see the matchup between two special personalities?
