Liverpool added more silverware to their burgeoning trophy cabinet on Sunday night as they beat Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

On what was a thunderously dramatic night, it was Jurgen Klopp's Reds who would edge the Blues after a marathon penalty shootout.

In what was quite possibly one of the most entertaining goalless draw in many a year, the two English titans threw everything at each other as they hunted domestic club glory.

The VAR had a very busy night with several goals ruled out while on-field referee Stuart Attwell had his work cut out for him keeping the testy players in check as the night wore on.

In the end, it was Kepa Arrizabalaga's woefully errant penalty that would hand victory to the Merseyside giants after Caiohmin Kelleher had shown maturity beyond his years to blast home.

Kepa's rocket high into the stands sparked wild celebrations among the Liverpool contingent as they celebrated their first domestic cup success in a decade and their first under Klopp.

Naturally, social media was awash with footage of the joyous celebrations from on-field antics, interviews and behind the scenes footage from inside the dressing room.

However, it seems that some of the celebrations haven't gone down especially well with the FA who have written to young-gun Harvey Elliott to explain why he was seen celebrating with a flare on the pitch.

Elliott has already shown his passion for the Reds on many occasion in his young career so the sight of him wielding some pyrotechnics as he roared to the crowd was a hit among fans, especially after he converted his penalty in the shootout.

You can see footage of Elliott's celebrations below:

Of course, pyrotechnics are banned in English stadiums and so it remains unclear as to how Elliott got his hands on the flare.

For now, the FA are only asking for his 'observations' on the matter.

In the meantime, the 18-year-old could be called on again as Liverpool turn their attentions to yet more domestic cup action with a clash against Norwich on Wednesday night.

With one trophy already under their belt, the coming months could prove to be some of the greatest in the history of the club.
