A number of West Brom players are not pulling their weight at the moment, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Steve Bruce's side lost 2-0 against Swansea on Monday night, and are now down in 13th place in the Championship.

What's happening at West Brom?

It is all going wrong for the Baggies right now.

The team have failed to win any of their last six league fixtures, with five of those matches coming under Bruce.

Indeed, West Brom have only scored one goal since Bruce arrived, and they turned in another dismal display when they were beaten by Swansea at the Hawthorns.

Late goals from Joel Piroe and Cyrus Christie handed the visitors a deserved win, and led to boos at the full time whistle from the home fans in attendance.

What has Jones said about West Brom?

Following Monday's match, West Brom's former head of media Chris Lepkowski tweeted: "Steve Bruce will get the bird. Managers always do. But... this bunch of players are absolutely stinking the place out. Horrible lot."

When asked if Lepkowski's thoughts on the playing staff at West Brom were accurate, Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I have heard that about a few of the players.”

Is it time for the players to start taking more responsibility?

It looks that way.

Sam Allardyce struggled to get the best out of the same group of players last term, which eventually resulted in West Brom getting relegated from the Premier League.

Valerien Ismael then took over, but despite making a positive start at the club, things quickly turned sour, and he was sacked after just six months at the helm.

Now, Bruce is trying to turn things around, yet the start of his tenure has been nothing short of disastrous as he has watched his side take just one point from a possible 15.

Three successive managers have failed to get a tune out of the players, and this has led to mediocre results and performances.

At this stage, it may be time for the players to take a look at themselves in the mirror and realise that they are part of the problem.

Otherwise, West Brom are going to continue to languish in mid-table in the Championship or possibly drop even further down the league rather than challenge for promotion.
