World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has said he’ll be first in line to fight if England declare war on Russia. When asked by a reporter about his views on three Ukrainian boxers heading to fight, the Gyspy King said: “It’s fantastic. I’ll be the first one to join up if England or America get involved. "I’ll be first in line, my dad will as well and all the boys. We’ll be signing up to defend.”Retired Ukrainian boxers Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko are both in the Kyiv, defending the European capital. Fury beat Wladimir for his first world title, and his older brother Vitali is now the mayor of Kyiv. Fellow heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk, who beat Anthony Joshua last year, has also headed back to his native country to take up arms along with Vasiliy Lomachenko. Fury continued: “It’s fantastic. If you’re from that country and live there, defend her. Love your woman and fight for your country.”

The 33-year-old is due to fight Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium, but his opponent failed to show at the pre-fight press conference yesterday afternoon.

The British superfight is due to take place on April 23, and Fury will be defending his WBC and Ring Magazine heavyweight titles.

The Gypsy King won the belts after beating Deontay Wilder in 2020, and the trilogy fight didn’t end any better for the Bronze Bomber.

The 6-foot-7 fighter won two of the three fights against Wilder, controversially drawing the other one.

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren was also full of praise for those in the boxing world heading to fight.

“Everybody should be pulling for Ukraine, standing up to the bully, standing up for democracy.

“Everybody should be behind those four fighters. It’s magnificent what they’re doing.”
