From just an average teenager from the Midlands to the World’s Scariest Man, Martyn Ford’s transformation has been nothing short of incredible.

Ford initially entered his teenage years aspiring to be a cricketer, but that career goal was cut short through injuries, meaning he had no choice but to try his hand at something else.

That something else quickly became going to the gym, with his focus and commitment seeing him in the position he currently is in.

It isn’t just lifting weights the bodybuilder specialises in, though, with Ford taking to cinema screens, as well as taking to the cage and fighting as an MMA fighter.

On Instagram, Ford has a following of a staggering 3.7 million people, and could be seen as what’s called in current times an influencer.

In an interview in 2018, regarding his transition to MMA, he said: “I have just always been very competitive, and I like challenging myself.

“I am just a bit stupid really, aren’t I?”

Now 39, Ford regularly participates in several bodybuilding competitions, unsurprisingly winning many of them, and judging by his current state, it doesn’t look like the man nicknamed as “The Nightmare” will be slowing down anytime soon.

Next up for Martyn Ford, however, is a boxing match with Sajad Gharibi, better known as “Iranian Hulk.”

The pair are set to battle it out at the O2 Arena on April 2, with Ford preparing extremely seriously for the bout, even travelling to the Netherlands to train with world champion kickboxer Rico Verhoeven.

During Ford’s face-off with Gharibi last week, tensions boiled over, with the Iranian attempting a takedown on his opponent

Since then, Gharibi took to Instagram to apologise, writing: “I came here with my own money and capital without any financial support and without a coach. As you can see in the video, he publicly shocked me and I lost my balance.”

The winner of the fight is something we can’t predict, but one thing we can is Gharibi won’t be the last man to be shocked by Martyn Ford.
