UFC legend Conor McGregor has stated that he is interested in the possibility of buying Chelsea FC.

The Irishman expressed his interest amid the reports that current owner Roman Abramovich is looking to sell the club due to the threat of sanctions imposed on Russian businessmen by the UK government.

It is reported that Abramovich is looking for £3 billion for the champions of the world.

Taking to Twitter, McGregor shared an image of a WhatsApp message in which he told someone that Chelsea was for sale at £3bn and that 'they should buy it.'

He then posted an animated video of himself visiting various sections of Chelsea's training ground and offices with the caption 'Push it to the limit.'

It's an interesting revelation that McGregor is interested in buying Chelsea, as he is known to be a die-hard Manchester United fan. He has even expressed his interest in buying the Red Devils in the past.

Whether or not the Irishman can afford such the steep price tag remains a question.

The 33-year-old makes between £25-£50 million per UFC fight, which heavily depends on pay-per-view numbers.

His Proper No12 whiskey brand proved to be his biggest earner, with McGregor reportedly selling his majority stake in the company for £430 million last year.

So although he is a very wealthy man, he would definitely need to rely on other investors if he was really serious about purchasing the Blues.
