With Conor McGregor rumoured to be interested in buying Chelsea FC, here are 10 things that might change at the London club if the Irishman actually did take over.

Note: We know this is highly, highly unlikely in reality, so don't take this too seriously.

Strict rules and fines

McGregor is known to be a very serious competitor inside and outside the ring. We believe that he would immediately implement strict rules on things like etiquette on and off the pitch and wouldn't be afraid to punish players who disobey the rules. One thing McGregor may be lenient on is lateness, as he is known for being a tardy person himself.

Harsher training

Before any fight, McGregor is known to have a very strict and intense training regime. He is often seen with bad injuries such as black eyes after training. We believe he would introduce this same type of intense training on the players, but maybe with less of the black eyes.

PR distasters

McGregor is notorious for his trash-talking before fights. He is outspoken and someone who doesn't think before they speak, we can only imagine the difficulties this would cause with some players/members of staff at Chelsea.

If a team parks the bus, he'll throw a dolly at it

The Irishman once threw a steel dolly through the bus window at Khabib Nurmagomedov which caused injuries, we feel he'd do the same if a team parked the bus against him.

Proper 12 becoming their sponsor

Despite selling his share of Proper 12 in April 2021, McGregor still has close ties to the whiskey company and we'd imagine that they would be first on the new sponsor list if the Irishman took over.

Stamford Bridge hosts combat events

McGregor is arguably the most well known UFC fighter, so we believe that one of the first things on the Irishman's list would be to have boxing and UFC fights, adding to the current list of football stadiums that host combat events.

Must-see interviews

McGregor's outspoken nature would certainly lead to some very funny interviews, I definitely wouldn't want to be a reporter asking the wrong question in a press conference.

Beef with rival owners

If something doesn't go McGregor's way, for example a team swoops in ahead of Chelsea to sign a player, McGregor would certainly have some words for the rival owner.

Decline of Chelsea FC

Quite simply, McGregor isn't a football owner and has no experience in running a football club. He is nothing more than a fan, so ultimately, Chelsea will crumble under the multiple PR disasters and player complaints due to McGregor's harsh ownership.

Forced to resign

McGregor is no stranger to inside and outside of the ring scandals, and we believe that this wouldn't change despite his change of occupation, combined with the failure of the club on and off the pitch, Notorious would be forced to resign.

We are sure that if McGregor took over, he would hire the right people to run the head office of Chelsea.

It would certainly give the Premier League giants the coolest and funniest owner in football.

But again, we know it's unlikely, we're just having some fun!
