Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta both leaving Chelsea this summer is even more likely now following Roman Abramovich's decision to sell the club, according to journalist Dean Jones.

A lot is currently up in the air at Stamford Bridge as the west London outfit prepare to move into a new era.

What is the latest news involving Chelsea?

Abramovich's 19-year ownership of Chelsea is set to come to an end, with the Russian recently putting the European champions up for sale.

A consortium that is currently being led by Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss and LA Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly is thought to be winning the race for the Premier League outfit.

According to The Telegraph, a bid is imminent, though there are other parties who are also believed to be interested.

Meanwhile, the defensive trio of Rudiger, Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen are all out of contract at the end of the season, giving the Blues another dilemma in this moment of time.

What has Jones said about Rudiger and Azpilicueta?

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Abramovich selling Chelsea has pushed the £41.4m-rated duo even closer to the Stamford Bridge exit door.

Speaking to GMS, the transfer insider said: "An immediate concern on the back of Roman selling is how it impacts the rebuild of this team.

"In the summer they need to sign important new defenders and are contemplating a new midfielder and probably a forward, yet new uncertainty over where the club is heading will make talks much more difficult - and also you wonder how much they’ll be investing in the immediate future.

"The same applies to the guys they want to keep, like Rudiger and Azpilicueta. If anything this makes their exits even more likely."

Who is the most likely to leave out of Rudiger, Azpilicueta and Christensen?

This whole ownership situation obviously complicates things, but there is still plenty of time for contracts to get signed. That being said, out of Rudiger, Azpilicueta and Christensen, the last of that three definitely looks to be off regardless of what happens with the club.

Journalist Gerard Romero recently reported that everything is practically agreed to take Christensen from Chelsea to Barcelona this summer on a free transfer.

It is a blow for manager Thomas Tuchel, who will be hoping that something can at least be done with Rudiger and Azpilicueta.

But with a takeover pending, you would not expect the Blues to sign off on anything right now.
