David de Gea’s distribution has been a talking point with Manchester United fans on social media this season.

While the Spain international has pulled off a host of impressive saves this term, there are some supporters who firmly believe that United require a better goalkeeper in order to seriously challenge the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.

Some would even like to see Dean Henderson given more of an opportunity to cement his status as the club’s first-choice ‘keeper. The England international, 24, is expected to leave Old Trafford in the summer either on loan or permanently as he seeks regular first-team football.

One Dean Henderson fan account on Twitter (yes, you read that right: a Dean Henderson fan account) has uploaded a damning two-minute video highlighting just how poor De Gea’s distribution has been this season.

From kicking balls straight out of play to inadvertently picking out opponents, it’s easy to see why some United fans are frustrated.

Watch it here:

Even at times where he’s under no pressure at all, De Gea is still making mistakes with his distribution.

Considering he’s now 31, it’s hard to see that side of his game improving any time soon.

De Gea deserves respect from Man Utd fans

With all that said, let’s not forget that De Gea is undoubtedly one of United’s best signings of the 2010s.

Winner of United’s Player of the Year award on four occasions following his £18 million move from Atletico Madrid in 2011, De Gea has been worth his weight in gold for the Red Devils over the past decade.

Without him, United’s struggles in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era would have been even worse.

While United fans will always be thankful for De Gea’s incredible contribution to the club, however, some strongly believe that this summer is the time for change.
