Cristiano Ronaldo is still going strong at the age of 37.

The Portuguese has struggled in recent times but he's still managed to scored 15 times for Manchester United this season, a respectable tally for any striker at this stage in the campaign.

He isn't the only striker that is continuing to bang in the goals well into their 30s, though.

Robert Lewandowski is five months away from his 34th birthday but continues to score goals for fun for Bayern Munich.

Having finished 2nd in the 2021 Ballon d'Or, an argument can be made that he's actually getting better with age.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is now 40 years old but is always a threat whenever he plays, while Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are still playing at a high level well into their 30s too.

All of the five aforementioned names are in the top 10 for most league goals scored over the age of 30 since 2000.

But who comes out on top? Transfermarkt have crunched the numbers and revealed the players with the most goals scored over the age of 30 in Europe's top five leagues this century.

Stats correct as of March 5, 2022.

Since turning 30, Ronaldo has scored 196 goals in 230 league games. That is an incredible tally.

He may have struggled recently but you wouldn't bet against him reaching 200 leagues goals after the age of 30 by the end of the season.

Ronaldo leads Zlatan Ibrahimovic by six goals, with Antonio Di Natale.

Messi is in fourth and 89 goals behind Ronaldo.

Lewandowski's tally is quite extraordinary. The Polish striker has notched a quite ridiculous 125 goals in 117 games, meaning he's averaging over a goal a game since turning 30. He is the definition of a fine wine.

Suarez also gets on to the list and is one goal shy of overtaking Aritz Aduriz and Luca Toni.
