Deji vs Alex Wassabi was the latest big fight in the world of YouTube boxing.

Ever since Joe Weller and Deji's brother, KSI, slugged it out in February 2018, the world of online content creators stepping between the ropes has become as popular as it is wild and wacky.

With Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather having slugged it out and Jake Paul taking on a series of former UFC fighters, the sky really is the limit when it comes to influencers pulling on the gloves.

Deji vs Alex Wassabi

And there was plenty of interest when Deji attempted to score his first win in the square circle at Wembley Arena on Saturday night as part of the Showstar UK VS USA YouTube Boxing event.

The online British star with more than 10 million subscribers on YouTube had previously suffered defeats to Jake Paul and Vinnie Hacker for a disappointing record of 0-2.

And although he entered the ring this weekend looking in better shape than ever, Deji's big moment was overshadowed by a worrying incident where a fan invaded the bout.

Fan invades the ring mid-fight

After around 90 seconds of the second round, everyone took a sharp intake of breath as an attendee burst between the ropes and ran towards the fighters out of absolutely nowhere.

The fan looked absolutely incensed and seemed to be shouting at the two fighters by the time that security apprehended him, thankfully without any serious danger having been posed.

The tussle that ensued - all while the fighters looked on bewildered - ultimately ended with the ring invader being bundled over the ropes in shocking scenes that you can watch down below:

Goodness gracious me. It's not often you see scenes like that during a boxing match.

Thankfully, security nipped the incident in the bud as it's never nice to see sportspeople, regardless of whether they're professionals or YouTubers, seemingly facing any threat of danger while competing.

A third consecutive defeat for Deji

Although it remains to be seen what came of the offending fan, the bout was eventually restarted and Deji went the distance for the first time in his amateur boxing career with a solid performance.

Nevertheless, avoiding the stoppages that marred his clashes with Paul and Hacker wasn't enough for the YouTube sensation to shake off his '0' with his American adversary taking the win.

The judges' scores came in at 50-46, 49-47 and 48-47 with Wassabi, whose real names is Alex Burriss, seeing his hand lifted for a split decision victory.

According to The Sun, Deji remarked after his third consecutive defeat: "I guess I think too much when I box. I don't punch enough. Alex did well I cant dispute that. Thank you everyone who came out."
