Christian Eriksen inspired Brentford to victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.

Thomas Frank's side have been in poor form in recent months.

Going into the match in Norfolk, Brentford had not won in the Premier League in eight games, a span lasting just over two months.

Their poor run had seen them slip towards the summit of the table and in danger of relegation.

But Brentford returned to winning ways with Eriksen, making his first Brentford start, pivotal as they emerged 3-1 winners.

The Dane was terrific from start to finish. He played a huge hand in The Bees' opening goal.

The 30-year-old's corner was flicked on by Kristoffer Ajer and Ivan Toney converted from close range at the back post.

Toney would go on to complete his hat-trick later on in the game.

Eriksen has been away from the sport for so long after suffering a cardiac arrest in Denmark's Euro 2020 match against Finland in the summer.

But he's showing that class is permanent with an impressive start to his career at Brentford.

Shortly after his hand in the opener, Eriksen played a quite exquisite pass to find Sergi Canos in the box. View it below...

Having the vision to spot Canos is one thing, but to then have the ability to find him was incredible.

Unfortunately, the Spaniard couldn't quite do Eriksen's pass justice and proceeded to lose the ball.

Eriksen isn't quite back to his very best but he's still performing at an extremely high level so soon after his return.

His stats from the game make for very impressive reading. View them, per Squawka, below...

Thomas Frank spoke about Eriksen after the game and he was very happy with his display.

Asked what he thought about Eriksen's performance, Frank replied, per talkSPORT: “I would say incredible, I would say the 90 minutes [was] fantastic.

“As I said earlier and in some of the press conferences, it would take him some time to get up to that top level.

“But you still saw three, four, five top actions, I think the delivery for the first goal, I think there were some balls in behind for his teammates where you could just see ‘wow, that’s another level’.

“But also in situations where he could have done a bit better, done better on the ball, which is good.

“We just want him on the top level.

“But for him a big moment last week, a big moment today and 90 minutes, so very good.”

Brentford's decision to sign Eriksen is turning out to be a masterstroke. They are now six points clear of the relegation zone and, with Eriksen in their ranks, they have a top class player who will no doubt be the difference down the stretch.
