As noted, Taylor vs Serrano will be taking place on Saturday April 30th from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The contest will be the very first time in history that two female fighters headline a boxing event at the world’s most famous arena.

Taylor is the Undisputed Lightweight Champion of the world, and she will be putting all of her illustrious titles on the line against Serrano.

This will be the sixth time that Taylor has defended the belts since winning them against Delfine Persoon. Since then, Taylor has defeated Persoon in a rematch, then Miriam Gutierrez, Natasha Jonas, Jennifer Han and Firuza Sharipova.

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn praised both fighters for taking on this contest and giving fight fans the biggest Women’s main event in history.

Speaking as part of a press release, Hearn said: “From the moment Katie Taylor stepped into my office, this is the moment we always dreamed of. The moment the world would stop and watch and watch the two greatest female fighters on the planet headline at the Mecca of boxing, Madison Square Garden.

“Taylor vs. Serrano is a fight for the history books. Yes, it’s by far the biggest female fight of all time but it’s also one of the biggest fights of all time, the undisputed World and Olympic champion against the seven division World champion.

“Both fighters deserve credit for getting this fight made, as does Jake Paul and his team at Most Valuable Promotions, DAZN and Madison Square Garden – together we’re going to put on a special night in New York and create a fitting spectacle for these trailblazers to shine.”
