Jadon Sancho's goal for Manchester United yesterday was the only positive to come from the Red Devil's 4-1 loss to Manchester City.To make the score 1-1, Jadon Sancho cut in from the left onto his right foot, putting the ball past Ederson to cancel put Kevin de Bruyne's opener. The goal didn't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of the game, with Man City running out comfortable winners, but it nearly meant a lot more to a couple of punters. As shared by @ODDSbible, as you can see below, one person put a £10 bet on Sancho scoring from outside the box with Sky Bet, with odds of 80/1.

Sancho took his shot right on the edge of the box, but closer inspection shows that the ball was a couple of inches inside the 18-yard box, was just centimetres away from pocketing £800.

This punter isn't the only one to have lost out though, as @LouisWard10 on Twitter shared that he put £25 on Sancho to score from outside the box with the same odds.

The Twitter user, who is a Chelsea fan, shared that he'd have walked away with £2000 if Sancho took his shot just a couple of seconds earlier while outside of the box.

This came just a week after a Liverpool fan smartly cashed out a bet for Joel Matip to score a header in the Carabao Cup final before VAR ruled the goal out, which you can read more about by clicking here.

Sancho not shooting from outside the box was heartbreaking for a few punters, but potentially not more so than the heartbreak Man United fans felt during the derby yesterday.

The dominance of Man City during the game, with Pep Guardiola's side boasting 92% possession at one stage during the match, just highlighted the gulf in class between the two teams at the moment.

The result makes Man United's chances of finishing in the top four significantly harder, with many fans now feeling as if Arsenal are the favourite to secure the final Champions League spot.

The game could also have long-term effects for the team too, with reports suggesting that Marcus Rashford is considering leaving his boyhood club after being left on the bench for the derby.

The winger's contract with Man United expires in the summer of 2023, and the Englishman is apparently considering his future with the club, which you can read more about by clicking here.
