Roy Keane was extremely upset after Manchester United were defeated 4-1 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Irishman was covering the game as a pundit for Sky Sports.

He was angry with his former side's performance and accused many of their players of giving up late in the game.

After slamming the players, Keane concluded: "They [City] toyed with them [United]. A bit like the game at Old Trafford. You know the old saying 'men vs boys...' They gave up. Shame on them."

Also on punditry duty for Sky Sports was Keane's good friend and former Man City player, Micah Richards.

Richards could be seen attempting to contain his laughter during Keane's rant and, just after the his colleague stopped speaking, the Englishman couldn't hold it in any longer.

"I was trying to hold it in!” Richards said while attempting to compose himself.

“Honestly. Why don’t you take over the job? You could do a better job than what they’re doing down there.”

Richards' actions quickly went viral. While many found his laughter amusing, his actions didn't go down well with everyone.

Independent journalist Miguel Delaney has slammed Richards for laughing, saying it was 'disrespectful'.

Taking to Twitter, Delaney wrote: "Watching Sky. Whatever you think of Keane's punditry, thought it was a touch disrespectful for Richards to be in hysterics as Keane makes an impassioned point."

Richards saw Delaney's comment and he has hit back.

Richards replied: "Deary deary me! When Souness says to me: “forget everything you’ve just said” or Neville says to me “stop ranting You’re not making sense” I don’t see you saying it’s disrespectful to me so stop this nonsense. It’s really not that deep. We all have respect for each other!!!"

Richards has taken some flak for his laughter but it's fair to say he's not having any of it.

City's victory sees them extend their lead over Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table to six points.

Liverpool have a game-in-hand, though, meaning the title race is still very much alive.

United, meanwhile, are fifth and are in serious danger of missing out on a Champions League berth.

They are one point behind fourth placed Arsenal, having played three games more.
