Marcus Rashford is not happy at Manchester United, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Rashford has slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford and was overlooked by Ralf Rangnick for the Manchester derby despite the German having no other fit strikers available.

What's the latest news involving Rashford?

According to the Guardian, the 24-year-old is considering his future at his boyhood club following his lack of opportunities.

The report says that Rashford is hopeful that his situation will improve but he is "serious" about the possibility of leaving the Red Devils.

Rashford was left out of the starting line-up at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, despite Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo missing out through injury. Instead, Rangnick opted to start Bruno Fernandes as the false nine, with Anthony Elanga and Jadon Sancho supporting him.

He did come off the bench when United were trailing 2-1 but has now played just 53 minutes across the last four Premier League games and has only started five of Rangnick's 14 top-flight matches in charge.

Rashford did start the Champions League game with Atletico Madrid last month, but is clearly out of favour at Old Trafford, which has led to him being "unhappy" with his current position.

What did Jones say about Rashford?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Marcus Rashford, as I understand it, is not happy at all."

Could Rashford leave Manchester United this summer?

Despite Rashford being frustrated with his situation, his future is unlikely to be decided until the summer.

Once the summer comes around, he'll only have two years remaining on his deal, although with Rangnick only interim boss, there will be a new manager in charge next season, which could lead to a change of fortunes for Rashford anyway.

Rashford has scored 93 goals since breaking into the first-team for United and has generally been a consistent performer despite his recent dip in form.

According to WhoScored, the forward has been United's 20th-best player this season with an average rating of 6.50, highlighting the extent in which he's struggled, with only four league goals all season.

Ultimately, as someone who came through the ranks at United, Rashford will be hoping his game-time will eventually improve and his situation will be resolved under the new manager, whether that be Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag or someone else.
