A League of Legends patch is set to go live in the game on Wednesday 9th March 2022, but what are the changes that Riot Games will be implementing?
Whilst we saw a hefty amount of additions to the game as part of the 12.5 update, there won’t be much in the way of major implementations as part of this mid-patch update.
It is rare for Riot to have to implement these sorts of hotfixes, but clearly, there are issues with 12.5 that badly need to be amended before the release of the next scheduled patch.
Here’s everything you need to know about the League of Legends 12.5b Patch Preview ahead of the release.
League of Legends Patch 12.5b Preview
Riot Games dev Riot Phlox confirmed the following with regards to the preview that they added to Twitter:
“Hey hey, it’s 12.5b preview time! 12.5b is the scheduled micropatch we’re putting out Wednesday to do some balance adjustments before the longer break.
“We’ll also be swapping the patch preview around between me and a few other people on the team starting the next few patches.”
Here are some of the changes that will be implemented as part of the League of Legends 12.5b micropatch on Wednesday 9th March 2022:
- Master Yi
Master Yi has had to be buffed following the changes that Riot introduced as part of the 12.5 Patch of the game. It appears as though the changes to Yi’s Lethality build have wrecked the win rate for the champion, so buffs have clearly needed to be implemented to bring the balance back somewhat.

Riot Games appears to still be struggling to balance Zeri’s kit for Season 12, and she will be getting nerfs as part of the 12.5b Patch.
- Locket of the Iron Solari
It’ll be interesting to see how these changes in the game’s meta will affect pro and casual play going forward. Hopefully, Riot has been able to iron out some of the balancing issues from the 12.5 patch!
