Manchester United are in a "very awkward" situation where none of their main forwards are happy right now, claims transfer insider Dean Jones.

After his omission from United's starting XI in their 4-1 derby defeat to Manchester City, plenty of talk has emerged about Marcus Rashford's future at Old Trafford.

What is the latest news involving United?

One of their star forwards, Rashford, is now thought to be considering his future at the club, with the 24-year-old barely featuring of late.

Prior to the City loss, he played just 16 minutes in the 0-0 draw with Watford and failed to make an appearance at all in the win away at Leeds United.

According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Rashford is now weighing up his options but a final decision is likely to take time.

The transfer guru also claimed that Paris Saint-Germain have shown an interest in Rashford before, so it will be interesting to see if they make a move for the Englishman in the summer should he decide it is time to move on.

What has Jones said about Rashford and United's other forwards?

Following this new development surrounding Rashford, Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that United are now in a situation where none of their leading forwards are happy.

Speaking to GMS, the football journalist said: "As a coach, it's kind of your job to get a player like Rashford to perform. I think we're now in a very awkward situation at United where none of their main forwards are happy."

Should United's forwards ask to leave Old Trafford in the summer?

It is clear to see that United's forwards are not loving life under manager Ralf Rangnick.

Cristiano Ronaldo has shown his frustration when being subbed off by the German, while Anthony Martial left the club in January after a lack of game time.

Ultimately, it would not be a surprise if Rashford, Ronaldo and Martial were all thinking about permanent exits right now.

However, the trio and anyone else who is thinking about leaving Old Trafford should probably wait. Rangnick is almost certain to be replaced, with both PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax's Erik ten Hag thought to be in the frame for the United gig.

It makes sense to hear what the new manager's plans are before making any decision. The likes of Rashford and Martial may not be happy with the amount of minutes they have got under Rangnick, but they could easily be in line for more under his successor.
