Injuries to right wing-back pair Nelson Semedo and Ki-Jana Hoever are a "massive problem" for Wolves manager Bruno Lage and one that he wouldn't have expected, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The £28.8m-rated pair have both sustained injuries in recent games, which could leave Lage facing a huge dilemma for the visit of Watford tonight.

What happened to Hoever and Semedo?

Semedo has been Lage's number one right wing-back this season, starting 23 of Wolves' first 25 Premier League games.

However, the former Barcelona man suffered a hamstring problem in the defeat at Arsenal last month and is expected to spend around a month on the sidelines.

His absence allowed 20-year-old Hoever to come into the side, playing 90 minutes in the 1-0 defeat at West Ham. He did start against Palace six days later, but his joy was short-lived when he hobbled off midway through the first half and was replaced by Jonny.

His injury led to an angry response from Lage, who was clearly furious about the youngster's lack of preparation ahead of the game.

He said: "Ki is a good example of the young kids When you are out and your teammate is playing, and you are not training at the intensity, you are not preparing yourself and after, when you have a chance, these kinds of things happen.

"I have too many kids in my team that sometimes don't work the way they should work. They do not prepare the way they should prepare and after, when they come inside [the team], these kinds of things happen.

"Injuries can happen, but this one happened because he was not prepared because Ki sometimes doesn't work in the same intensity."

Having gone from two right-sided players in his squad to none in less than two weeks, Jones said that it's been an unexpected turn of events for Lage.

What did Jones say about Semedo and Hoever?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "It's a massive problem. It's a position that offers so much to this Wolves system and he wouldn't have seen it coming."

Who could start against Watford?

Lage will be down to the bare bones for the clash at Molineux this evening providing Hoever isn't available for the game.

Judging by his comments, though, the youngster is unlikely to get another chance to prove himself, meaning Lage will have a fresh face at right wing-back.

That could allow Jonny, who's had a wretched time with injuries in recent seasons, to make his first Premier League start for almost exactly one year since he lined up against Liverpool on 15 March.

But Jonny has played just 94 minutes in the last 12 months, so Lage will be carefully monitoring his situation before throwing him in from the start.
