Toto Wolff is one of the most popular names in the Formula One paddock today, with him gaining fame thanks to his animated reactions during races.

Wolff was born in Austria in 1972 and suffered a tough childhood, losing his father to brain cancer during his school years.

After a short motorsport career, where he won the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 1994, Wolff turned his attentions to Formula One, where he became executive director of Williams F1 in 2012.

During his tenure, he oversaw, to date, Williams’ last win in Formula One, with Pastor Maldonado taking victory at the Spanish Grand Prix.

In 2014, Wolff joined Mercedes, where he remains today as CEO and Team Principal, as well as holding a 33% stake in Mercedes F1.

Under his tenure, Mercedes have dominated the sport, winning eight consecutive Constructors' Championships since 2014.

The 47-year-old has various methods where he makes his wealth from, through being the CEO and Principal of Mercedes, as well as several other investments.

Estimated to be earning a salary of around $3.5 million, Wolff owns several luxury cars at his Northamptonshire house, close to Mercedes’ headquarters at Brackley.

Wolff also owns a house in Thurgau in Switzerland, and spends time living in both with his wife Susie, a former racing driver and current CEO of Venturi in Formula E.

Wolff’s net worth is estimated to be around the $450 million, according to Sporskeeda, which is a figure that may not come as a shock after the huge successes he has had with Mercedes, largely down to arguably the greatest driver in the sport Sir Lewis Hamilton.

Should Hamilton go on to become to most successful driver in the history of the sport in 2022, then that figure will only increase.
